How much does the Stepwise Cane™ weigh?

Are there height limitations for the Stepwise Cane™?

The Stepwise Cane™ works for a vast majority of people who use canes. The height parameters for a Stepwise Cane™ user are a minimum height of 4’ 10” and a maximum height of 6’ 2”. A replaceable Stepwise Cane™ base will soon be available for purchase.

Can I replace the base on my Stepwise Cane™?

Yes. To replace the base of your Stepwise Cane, you'll want to start by resting the cane sideways with the handle extending beyond the edge of a table. Press down on the base firmly and rotate the handle downward to loosen and detach the base.

What is the Stepwise Cane™ made out of?

The cane shaft is made of durable aluminum, the proprietary base is made from a proprietary substrate material with a very strong bonded rubber tread.

How Stepwise Works

Is the Stepwise Cane™ easy to use?

Yes. It’s as easy as any other cane, if not easier.

How do I use the the Stepwise Cane™?

When you take the Stepwise Cane™ out of its packaging, it is set at the lowest height setting.

To adjust the height, press the button and slide the Stepwise Cane™ to your desired height, keeping the handle near your wrist level when placed at your side.

Then simply tighten the cane lock into place and you’re ready to start your journey to improved balance and mobility.

Should I use my Stepwise Cane™ to stand up?

No. Physical therapists and other healthcare professionals strongly discourage using an assistive device to stand up. When possible, one should always push up from the stable base on which they are seated (examples: arm or seat of the chair, edge of bed, etc.).

Finding the perfect height for your Stepwise Cane™

Your Stepwise Cane™ starts at the lowest height setting when you take it out of the box. The cane’s lock will be unfastened, making it easy for
you to adjust the height by pressing the button and sliding the Stepwise
Cane™ to fit your height. The Stepwise Cane™ handle should be near wrist level when placed at your side. Once you find your desired height, tighten the cane lock and you’re ready to go!

Intended Use and Limitations

The Stepwise Cane™ is not intended to bear a user’s full weight as is no walking cane.
